If so this is the first step on your journey. 

This course is free of charge and is fully funded by County Kildare Leader Partnership

The course runs over 2 weeks

  • Week 1 consists of self guided online learning that you complete at a time that suits you
  • Week 2 consists of in house practical training

The programme aims to develop learners key skills and understanding in Appliance maintainance & repair

Mandatory successful completion of online modules ( is required prior to practical training)

Covers:

  • Field Service knowledge on appliances including:
    • Electrical Appliances
    • Refrigerator
    • Washing Machine
    • Tumble Dryer
    • Electric Oven
    • Dishwasher
    • Microwave

COURSE CONTENT OVERVIEW:

  • Understand responsible disposal methods and implement circular economy principles in appliance repair
  • Develop skills in sourcing and replacing specific components
  • Develop skills in refurbishment and upcycling
  • Understand refrigerant handling and environmental regulations
  • Understand the environmental impact of white goods
  • Implement safe disposal of electronic components in compliance with
  • environmental protection standards.
  • Implement energy-saving repair techniques and develop strategies for extending appliance lifecycle

On successful completion of the course you will be issued with a City & Guilds 5546 Employability Skills Level 1 award. (5546-01)
