The pathways available to students after gaining the qualifications and experience from the programme are vast and not exclusive to the bicycle industry.
On completion of our Foundation and Advanced programmes, learners have the option for a pathway to third level education
The student will gain meaningful & respected engineering qualifications that will be accepted across many industries as a mark of excellence in education.

The BEA Engineering programmes offer a new wave in Engineering, an area of expertise that has been over looked for many years as a respected Engineering stand alone sector.
Our graduates have a proven pathway to join a Level 7/8 Bachelors of Engineering programme (BEng)with TUS in Limerick.
Direct entry into second year of the 3 year (Level 7) or 4 year (Level 8) is available to our graduates
Our fully funded Further Education and Training courses are funded by the relevant ETB in that area and co funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union

Overall BEA Engineering programme certificate
As part of the qualification the learners will build a bespoke bicycle frame. During this process you will gain accreditations in Tig welding, Bronze & silver brazing, sand blasting, lathe turning, hand jig development & product design.
The learner will also get an introudction to Electronic engineering and sustainable transport

Bicycle Technician Engineering Advanced Programme
Duration 20 weeks | Full time

This Advanced programme will allow the student to manufacture a bicycle frame, which the student will keep. The student will also gain a City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering

Part Time (Blended Courses)
Bicycle Mechanic Technician Blended Programme (Stage 1)
Duration 4 weeks | Part Time
Cost: FREE
Qualifications Gained:
- City and Guilds Certificate in Bicycle Mechanics Level 2
This blended programme covers all the basics of Bicycle Repair and Maintenance, such as:
- Frame Components
- Tool Overview
- Removing and refitting pedals
- Handlebars & Stems
- V Brake fitting and adjustment
- Truing a wheel
- Gears rear derailleur
Delivered over 4 weeks, in the first 3 weeks you will complete self guided online E-learning at a time that suits you. The final week includes practical training on site, Monday to Friday. Only 5 days on site required. .
Most insurance companies will require this certificate as the minimum required qualification to work in the modern cycling industry as a mechanic or technician.
Advanced Bicycle Mechanic Technician Blended Programme (Stage 2)
Duration 4 weeks | Part time

Qualifications Gained:
- City and Guilds Assured in Advanced Bicycle Technician & E-Bike
This Advanced programme builds on skills from the previous course as well as introducing more advanced techniques including the following:
- Lateral and Radial Truing
- Hydraulic Brake Systems
- E-bike Diagnostics and Essential Repair
- Workshop Management
Delivered over 4 weeks, in the first 3 weeks you will complete self guided online E-Learning at a time that suits you. The final week includes practical training on site, Monday to Friday. Only 5 days on site required.
This course is only available to those who have already completed the stage 1 blended bike mechanics course and would like to further their knowledge.
E-Bicycle Technician Blended Programme
(Stage 3)
Duration 4 weeks | Part time
Cost: FREE
Qualifications Gained:
- City and Guilds Assured in Advanced Technician with E-bikes and PPT’s (E-Scooter)
This course is the first programme in the EU to specialise in PPT’s (Powered Personal Transporters)
- Rear Wheel Building

- Advanced E-bike Diagnostics (Mid Drive)

Delivered over 4 weeks, in the forst 3 weeks you will complete self guided online E-Learning at a time that suits you. The final week includes practical training on site. Monday to Friday. Only 5 days on site required.
Electronics, Motors, Batteries, fault finding, critical analysis reporting.
Only available to those who have successfully completed the first two blended courses.
The opportunity to graduate onto other BEA programmes will exist as we develop them.
