Bicycle Technician Engineering Advanced programme

20 weeks duration

Monday – Friday

The advanced course is a seamless follow on from the foundation programme

That will allow the student to manufacture a bespoke bicycle frame that the student will get to keep & develop into a fully working and road worthy bicycle. During this programme four more levels of major qualifications will be achieved advancing the education level of the student. During this process you will gain accreditations in Tig welding, Bronze & silver brazing, sand blasting, lathe turning, hand jig development & product design.

Graduates of the advanced programme have a proven pathway to third level education

  • Our graduates have a proven pathway to join a Level 7/8 Bachelors of Engineering programme (BEng)with TUS in Limerick.
  • Direct entry into second year of the 3 year (Level 7) or 4 year (Level 8) is available to our graduates

FAQ

Are there any financial supports in place for the students?

  • Tuition costs are fully covered by the Education Training Board
  • Students currently in receipt of social welfare will not have there payments effected by enrolling in any of our courses 
  • Students not in receipt of social welfare may be entitled to:
    • Training Allowance
    • Travel Allowance
    • Accommodation Allowance 
What are the course times/hours?
  • Monday-Thursday 9am-16:15pm
  • Friday 9am-13:15pm
  • Duration 20 weeks
